The 10 best copy AI alternatives

Table of Contents

Whilst I’m undoubtedly a fan of Copy.ai and have reviewed the tool extensively on the site, there will come a time when you want to test the alternatives just to see what else is out there.

In this breakdown, I’ve put together ten of my favorites in terms of the types of AI copywriting tools that are as good as, if not better (in some respects) as Copy.ai.

Rather than drag-out a longwinded intro, let’s just get into the ten best alternatives on the market today.

Also if you liked this guide and want to see more of an in-depth comparison with a leading AI copy tool, check out my Jasper vs Copy.ai review in its entirety.

Along with Copy AI, Jasper AI is most probably the other biggest name in the emerging industry of AI copywriting tools. Formerly known as Jarvis AI, the tool is packed with valuable features that make it similarly competitive to those offered by Copy AI.

Features

  • Jasper features some impressive partnerships with other writing tool companies, integrating their services into the writing tool. These integrations include Surfer SEO, an excellent tool for optimising content, the editing software Grammarly, and a plagiarism checker called Copyscape.
  • For those who are concerned about finding AI writing tools difficult to get a hang of, Jasper has a great selection of training videos, articles and courses to help you become an expert at using their service.

Pros

Cons

Pricing

Jasper AI offers two main pricing options, both of which scale depending on how many words you need to use per month:

Starter – from $29 per month: 20,000 words per month, 50+ AI copywriting skills, unlimited projects

Boss mode – around $99 per month: 100,000 words per month, blog post creator, long-form document support

For those looking for a tool that will help with design in addition to just content writing support, Simplified might provide an excellent alternative to Copy AI. While it does provide a creative environment, it doesn’t quite offer the same copy-centred tools that options like Jasper AI do.

Features

  • It’s suitable for international users who need to write in a variety of languages, featuring support in over 20 languages.
  • In addition to creating copy, it features tools that can help you to create video content and graphic design, and then publish that content on social media. Some of these features require higher subscription levels, meaning they’re not universally available.
  • For those of you who are working as part of a broader team, Simplified has some great tools that facilitate easy collaboration, making it a lot simpler to work on projects together.

Pros

Cons

Pricing

Simplify currently offer 4 different pricing solutions:

Free: 1000 words per month

Small teams – $12 per month: 20,000 words per month

Business – $24 per month: 50,000 words per month

Growth – $99 per month: unlimited words

Anyword is an AI copywriting tool that focuses on creating the best short-form content possible, especially in terms of search engine optimisation.

As you write, it gives your content an SEO grade, allowing you to create content that hits all the key metrics with relative ease.

That being said, it’s not the cheapest option; other than their free plan, all of the paid solutions are pretty pricey, with their top-tier options coming in at an eye-watering cost.

Features

  • The main feature that people choose Anyword for is the way the tool takes data surrounding your organisation and turns that into actionable advice to make excellent content. This essentially does the job of multiple tools for you, removing the need for complex keyword search engines, SEO optimisation tools, and grammar checkers.

Pros

Cons

Pricing

Anyword currently offers four different pricing solutions, all of them quite expensive:

Free: Simple content creation tools

Data-driven basic – $79 per month: Content creation assisted by AI, suitable for all media channels

Data-driven unlimited – $239 per month: Content that drives conversion with a built-in feedback-learning model

Enterprise – $999 per month: Leverages historical data from your business’s website to create optimised content, while adapting it to suit your brand guidelines

Article Forge is a great tool for creating lengthier articles and other pieces of long-form copy. While it’s excellent at its intended purpose, if you’re looking for something that can handle shorter-form content creation such as ads and social media posts, you may want to look elsewhere for a more suitable solution.

Take a look at my Article Forge review for the specifics on who should (and shouldn’t) be using this tool.

Features

  • Article forge can be connected to whichever CMS you use, allowing you to directly post articles on your website. In the long run, this can significantly cut the amount of time you spend copying, pasting and reformatting, making the content creation process a lot more efficient.
  • It also features the popular plagiarism checker, Copyscape, helping you to check that all the content it provides you with is in fact original.

Pros

Cons

Pricing

At the time of writing, Article Forge offers three different pricing options, with each of them offering a free trial:

Basic – $13 per month when billed annually: 25,000 words per month

Standard – $27 per month when billed annually: 250,000 words per month

Unlimited – $57 per month when billed annually: Unlimited words per month

ClosersCopy is one of the only options on this list that uses its own AI solution to create original content. While most AI writing tools use GPT-3, the popular deep learning content generator tool, ClosersCopy decided to create its own version; initially, it was susceptible to a higher than normal number of bugs, but as time goes on, it’s becoming increasingly reliable. If you’ve tried out other tools that exclusively use GPT-3, and have found that you don’t get along with them, you might be pleasantly surprised by the content created by ClosersCopy.

Features

  • ClosersCopy comes with an integrated SEO tool that helps you to edit your content as you go along, keeping ranking factors in mind throughout the process rather than treating it like an additional extra to be tacked on.
  • ClosersCopy features an impressive array of languages and templates, with writing supported in over 120 languages and 900 available templates. If you need to create content in a lot of niche languages, this will no doubt be highly useful.

Pros

Cons

Pricing

ClosersCopy currently offers three main pricing solutions, all of them reasonably expensive. They do however sometimes offer lifetime options, where you get lifetime access for a one off fee:

Power – $49.99 per month: 300 AI runs per month, 50 SEO audits, 2 seats (you + team member)

Superpower – $79.99 per month: Unlimited AI runs + SEO audits, 3 seats (you + 2 team members)

Superpower Squad – $99.99 per month: Unlimited AI runs + SEO audits, 5 seats (you + 4 team members)

Writesonic is a great Copy AI alternative that’s similarly versatile, and aimed at a wide variety of users. With its broad range of pricing structures, from free to small business, there’s likely an appropriate option for all users.

Features

  • Writesonic supports 25+ languages – around the industry average, and likely enough for most users.
  • It features SEMrush integration capabilities, which is highly beneficial when it comes to SEO. For users who are already familiar with SEMrush, this will make using the tool even easier to use.
  • It’s a great tool when it comes to collaborative work – there’s no limit on how many projects you start, and up to four people can work on a project at a time.

Pros

Cons

Pricing

Writesonic currently offers three different pricing options. How much each costs depends on how many words and users you require – the price also differs depending on the quality of writing you choose, with options ranging from ‘economy’ to ‘premium’:

Free trial: 2500 words at ‘premium’, or 6250 at ‘good’

Short form – from $10 to $26.67 per month: from 12,000 words at ‘premium’, or 120,000 words at ‘economy’

Long form – from $13 to $666 per month: from 19,000 words at ‘premium, or 190,000 words at ‘economy’

Rytr is a great, affordable mid-range solution aimed at the centre of the field. It may not come with all the bells and whistles associated with some of the competitors, but it’s an affordable, versatile tool that will be more than enough for most users.

Features

  • The tool features a variable tone of voice, with 20 different options to choose between. If you’re a freelance marketing professional working with multiple brands, this is bound to come in handy when it comes to matching their brand voice.
  • Rytr also features a paraphrasing tool, similar to the one provided by Quillbot, that can help you to freshen up existing content. This is a handy tool for writers who need to repurpose or otherwise change content that they’ve already written in the past.

Pros

Cons

Pricing

Rytr currently offers three different pricing brackets:

Free plan: 10,000 characters per month

Saver plan – $9 per month: 100,000 characters per month

Unlimited plan – $29 per month: Unlimited characters per month, dedicated account managers, priority support

For users who need to create content optimised for e-commerce sites, Copysmith.ai will likely be the most appropriate solution on this list. It is suitable for uses other from e-commerce, but it’s definitely designed to come up with short-form content like ads and product descriptions.

Features

  • Copysmith.ai is great when it comes to integration; it can seamlessly be used alongside Faze SEO, Shopify, Google Ads and WooCommerce to create impressively effective optimised content.
  • It’s a great tool for use with a larger team, with heaps of useful collaborative features.

Pros

Cons

Pricing

Copysmith.ai currently offers three different pricing options, one of which you need to contact them directly about:

Starter – $19 per month: 75 credits (40k words) to use each month, with 20 plagiarism checks

Professional – $59 per month: 400 credits (260k words) to use each month, with 100 plagiarism checks

Enterprise – contact Copysmith.ai: Up to unlimited words and plagiarism checks, depending on the specific arrangement

Like Wordtune, Word.ai is a tool that focuses more on paraphrasing existing content than writing totally new content. It’s capable of creating fresh content based on prompts, but if that’s your intended use, you might find other options on this list to be more suitable.

Features

  • It comes with Copyscape integrated, so you’ll always be sure that the content you get is totally original.
  • It can be used to make complex content more accessible, which can be great for reviewers or writers in academic niches.

Pros

Cons

Pricing

Word.ai currently offers two different pricing options:

Standard – $57 billed monthly, $27 per month when billed annually: Suitable for bulk rewrites, with variable levels of access

Enterprise – custom: Suited to exceptionally high-volume usage, with a personal account manager

Finally, we have my review of Wordtune, a tool that excels when it comes to touching up and rewriting content. It’s more focused on editing than content creation, compared to the other tools listed above, closer perhaps to tools like Grammarly than Copy AI. As a result, it can be used alongside AI-powered content creation tools, helping you to create excellent quality copy.

Features

  • With the adjustable style feature, it’s easy to rewrite content to match your brand or client’s tone of voice.
  • The ‘lengthen’ and ‘shorten’ features help you to match word counts without having to manually cut or add content yourself.

Pros

Cons

Pricing

There are currently three different pricing options for Wordtune:

Free: Ten sentence rewrites per day

Premium – $9.99 per month when billed annually: Unlimited rewrites, unlimited tone changes, unlimited ability to shorten and expand

Premium for teams – contact Wordtune directly: The same as the premium option but optimised for team use
